FIAF -Trophée des Arts Gala 2009.

Event Description:
Acclaimed French actress Isabelle HUPPERT will present the 2009 FIAF Trophée des Arts to theater and visual artist Robert WILSON at The Plaza Hotel in New York, on Monday, November 2nd, 2009 (7pm Cocktails ; 8pm Black Tie dinner). The Trophée des Arts Gala will also award the Pilier d’Or to Chairman, President, and CEO of Wyeth, Bernard POUSSOT.

The 2009 Trophée des Arts is given to Robert Wilson in recognition of his prodigious career, including over 35 works that he has premiered and presented in France. Robert Wilson has worked with every major institution in Paris. He was named “Commandeur des Arts et des Lettres” by the French Minister of Culture. Established in 1992, the Trophée des Arts is awarded each year to a distinguished artist or cultural icon who has exemplified FIAF’s mission of French-American friendship and cross-cultural exchange. Previous honorees include Philippe de Montebello, James Ivory, Charlie Rose, and Jeanne Moreau.

The French Institute Alliance Française also recognizes Bernard Poussot, Chairman, President, and CEO of Wyeth with the Pilier d’Or. Bernard Poussot is the strategic mastermind behind the recent blockbuster merger of Wyeth into Pfizer. Former Pilier d’Or honorees include Pierre Bellon (Sodexo), Bertrand Collomb (Lafarge), and Jean-Bernard Levy (Vivendi).

7 pm Cocktails and Silent Auction ; 8 pm Black Tie Dinner and Live Auction.
