The American Classical Orchestra is guided by its mission to bring classical masterpieces to life through music performed on original instruments. "We're honoring an entire movement, a revolution that happened in the 1980s," said CIA President Dr. Tim Ryan. "This was the first generation to take the banner of American cuisine and run with it, which resulted in large measure in all the positive developments that the industry and chefs have seen since. Prior to this revolution, American chefs were looked down upon and thought to be inferior, even in America. The pioneering chefs we are honoring are really the ones who put us on the path we are on today."
The CIA created the Augie Awards, named in honor of famed chef Auguste Escoffier, to celebrate success and achievement of the foodservice industry's best and brightest. Augie recipients exemplify a tradition of innovation and leadership. |
